The village
dates back to the 11th C. The villa, dating itself from the 1400s, was acquired
in 1473 by the Ospedale di S. Maria Nuova, which put it to use for the production
and storage of oil, grain and wine. It expanded over the centuries and became
a villa in the late 18th C. since when it has belonged to the Busi family.
The estate has 60 hectares of vineyards.
