DESCRIPTION OF THE FARM
Located around 32 Km east of Florence, the farm extends along the hills which rise on the right bank of the river Sieve, a few kilometers before it joins the Arno, where the landscape becomes progressively wilder and the colours stronger and more brilliant. The altitude varies between 150 and 550 meters above sea level. Apart from wine, the other pride and joy of this farm is the extra virgin olive oil produced from around 30 hectares of olive-grove which, alternating with coppices, fields of wheat and sunflowers, slope gently down to the bottom of the valley thus characterizing the typical Tuscan hillside landscape. In the past few years, the farm has integrated its production with farm holiday and hunting activities.

HISTORY OF THE FARM AND ITS PEOPLE
In the middle of the nineteenth century, the farm of Colognole, which belonged to the noble Florentine Martini Bernardi family, was purchased by Countess Gabriella Spalletti Trivelli - namesake of the present owner - who established her home in the beautiful eighteenth century villa. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the second generation, with Cesare and Giambattista, assiduously dedicated itself to the recovery of the viticultural patrimony of the area and the production of quality wines which have remained, over the years, the primary objective and the passion of subsequent generations.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE OWNER
Since 1966, the farm has been run by the Countess Gabriella who, in recent years, has built an aging cellar in the underground rooms of the villa. The Countess has always been passionately involved in the world of wine and the Tuscan countryside, and has also played a pioneering role in the renovation of the farmhouses on the property, giving a non-indifferent contribution to the cultural and environmental re-evaluation of the area.
