49th BACCO ARTIGIANO
From 26 to 29 September 2024, Rufina will host the 49th edition of Bacco Artigiano, one of the most anticipated events in the area. A historical festival that celebrates Chianti Rufina wine, along with the traditions and culture that surround this corner of Tuscany.
An event that involves not only wine enthusiasts, but also those who want to immerse themselves in an evocative atmosphere of craftsmanship, music and folklore.
During the four days of Bacco Artigiano, there will be a rich calendar of activities. Among the most important events will be the usual departure of the Carro Matto from Rufina towards Florence, an ancient tradition that recalls the transport of wine on woven straw carts. There will also be guided tastings of Chianti Rufina wines, along with musical shows and entertainment for adults and children.

Tuesday, September 24, at 12:00
– Presentation of the 49th edition of Bacco Artigiano in Palazzo Vecchio
– Press conference organized by the Municipality of Rufina and the Municipality of Florence.
Saturday, September 28, from 3:30 pm
Carro Matto parade and Historical Procession of Wine and the County of Rufina through the streets of the center of Florence
The planned route is as follows:
– departure at 3:30 p.m. The Florentine Republic Procession will start from Piazzetta di Parte Guelfa, Via Pellicceria, Via Brunelleschi, Via dei Pecori, Piazza San Giovanni, Piazza del Duomo – Sacrati Strozzi, joining the Procession of the Carro Matto and the Historical Procession of Wine and the County of Rufina;
– 4:00 p.m. stop for the Blessing of the Wine in Piazza Duomo, continuing from P.za del Duomo, Via Calzaiuoli;
– 4:30 p.m. stop at the Church of San Carlo dei Lombardi and offering of the Ampoule of Wine;
via dei Lamberti, Via Calimala, Piazza della Repubblica, Via Roma, Piazza San Giovanni;
– 4:45 pm in Piazza Duomo – Sacrati Strozzi, the Offering of wine to the City Authorities;
– 5:15 pm: performances by the Musicians of the Historical Procession of the Florentine Republic and the Flag-bearers of the Uffizi — return of the Carro Matto and the vehicles towards Rufina, and return to the Palagio di Parte Guelfa by the Procession of the Florentine Republic, Via Calzaiuoli, Via degli Speziali, Piazza della Repubblica, Via Pellicceria, P.zza di Parte Guelfa
