President Francesco Mazzei: «We represent about 40% of the entire Tuscan production and we tell a very varied wine proposal that attracts the interest of the markets, always looking for new proposals».
Now in its fourth edition, L’Altra Toscana, placed within the great week of Previews, has welcomed journalists from all over the world and many operators in the sector. The interest in the territories and consortia gathered in Florence is constantly growing.
Maremma Toscana, Montecucco and Montecucco Sangiovese, Cortona, Chianti Rufina, Terre di Casole, Suvereto, Val di Cornia and Rosso della Val di Cornia, Carmignano, Barco Reale di Carmignano and Vin Santo di Carmignano and IGT Toscana. The thirteen DOP and IGP and their respective Consortia have shown their Tuscany, where passion and innovation are a daily inspiration for the producers who, with ever greater commitment, work in the countryside and in the cellar, increasing the quality and pleasure of the sip.
Vermentino and Sangiovese, the protagonist vines. The first in its various declinations, from the most characterful structures, to the freshness of the coast, up to interesting bubbles. The second in excellent form among the modern reds, rosés that are in no way inferior, interesting blends with other native or international vines.
“There is great interest in our wine proposals that lend themselves to responding to a sector in a continuous phase of change – explains Francesco Mazzei at the helm of the Associazione L’Altra Toscana that promoted the event and president of the Consorzio Tutela Vini della Maremma Toscana, which acts as the leader – With the Preview of L’Altra Toscana we tell the story of small or lesser-known wines and territories, Denominations that attract because they represent something new and that are born in magnificent places that have a lot to offer”.
