Project Description

The ORMÆVINÆ project began after the historic farm in Chianti Rufina “Il Monte” was acquired by international investors, a family that is passionately in love with Italy, Tuscany and Florence. The purchased estate consisted of a 1.2 hectare vineyard, which had been rented by previous owners, and the ancient olive grove of 2,300 olive trees, many of which have not been pruned and treated properly for a decade.

The new investors have set up a rehabilitation project for the old “Il Monte” vineyard (25 years old) and the old olive grove (the age of trees – from 20 to over 100 years old). This project is still ongoing and is conducted on the principles of organic agriculture and single vineyard wine production (“cru”). We respect the identity of the geographical area of Chianti Rufina and its traditions. We are committed to the quality of our products and organic agriculture. Our farm and our products are BIO certified. Since 2019 we have become members of the Consorzio Chianti Rufina.
